Additional Details
Most of the camping area is located on the sandy peninsula that divides Boedne Bay and Brevoort Lake. Many sites have direct access to the water. The sites are large, forested, have tables and a fire ring. Water and flush toilets are conveniently spaced throughout the campground. A trailer dumping station is near the entrance.
Three trails are available for the hiking enthusiast. Ridge Trail begins just outside the entrance to the campground and traverses for one and half miles on a ridge overlooking the campground. The North Country Trail passes near the campground. The route of the Sand Dunes Cross-Country Ski Trail is excellent for hiking in the summer and the trailhead is on the Brevoort Lake Road (Co. Road H-57) about 0.5 miles north of US-2.
The shoreline on the east side of the peninsula is sandy and suitable for sunbathing and swimming. Swimming is at your own risk; there are no lifeguards.
Boat access is from the center of the campground on Boedne Bay. Species of fish caught here are smallmouth bass, crappies, sunfish, perch, northern pike, muskellunge, and walleye. In 1985 the Forest Service completed the construction of a walleye spawning reef in Brevoort Lake
A small store, offering bait, groceries, boat and canoe rentals is adjacent to the campground. Picnic facilities are located just passed the store.
Brevoort Lake Campground is a concessionaire-operated fee area. Golden Passports are accepted.
