Trail #1199
When you reach the ridge where the hare trail meets the divide go south on the 1101 trail about .5 mile where the views are spectacular.
The trail follows the Middle Fork of the little Snake river up to the divide. It's a gradual climb through pine forest.

Basic Directions
On HWY 40 two miles outside of Steamboat Springs, turn right onto County Road 129. Follow CR 129 about 32 miles until it forks just past Columbine and turn right onto FDR 550. Travel 2.5 miles and turn right onto FDR 500. Follow the Access #1 to FDR 500. Continue 2 miles east on FDR 500 and turn right onto FDR 505. Keep going straight when 505 turns right on 520 for another 1.5 miles to the trailhead.
